First Impression- I could tell, almost instantly, that these were going to be a phenomenal pair of Thai pads. On my arms they felt comfortable and secure, and the leather felt durable. I was curious to see how they performed.

Construction- The attention to detail on these Thai pads is clearly evident. Manufactured in Pakistan, these pads feature thick, all leather construction and tight, precise stitching. The wrist straps are hook & loop style and feature a small ridge of padding that runs along your forearm for additional protection and comfort. The padding falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, neither being so hard that it hurts your shins and firsts, nor too soft so that your forearms absorb the majority of the blow. Additionally, they feature a unique gel lining to absorb even more concussive force.

Comfort-Comfort is an area where I really feel these particular Thai pads shine. Simply put, they?re comfortable to wear. They absorb all blows nicely, not just padded fists, and, being precurved, put your arms and hands in a more natural position. The small ridge of adding that runs along the forearm also works well to prevent some of the irritation that can develop during a workout while wearing Thai pads. The hook & loop closure system works very well, keeping the pads secure and in position throughout a workout.

Stand Up- These pads are a joy to use. I can wear them for multiple rounds without my arms becoming sore or tired. My favorite aspect of these pads is their ability to be used universally. Whether you’ve just started Muay Thai and still have sore shins, or you’ve traveled the world honing your craft, these pads will work for you, absorbing everything you can dish out while leaving the wearer’s arms abundantly protected. These pads are also a great weight for the person that is wearing them.

Pros-

*Good Construction

*Comfortable

*Precurved

Cons-

*Logos on face could come off

Overall- These are a great pair of thai pads. They are comfortable and do exactly what they should. I feel like you can use them whether you are a beginner or a long time user. If you are in need of a new pair of thai pads I would definitely say take a look at these. They retail for right around $150.

First Impression- I pulled these gloves out of the box and was glad to see they were black as I did not know what ones Boomer had sent me. They looked great and I could not wait to try them on and get to cracking.

Fit and Finish- I liked the way these gloves fit. At http://www.cagesidemma.com/ they have a very helpful sizing chart so that you get the correct size and this definitely helped me. All of the stitching was tight and there was no loose of frayed stitching on the gloves. They have a great feel to them and on the inside of the glove the moisture wicking material feels very nice. They fit me just right except there is a small place on the outside palm of the glove that sticks out and does not cling to the hand. While it looks annoying I did not experience any problems with this but others have had fingers get stuck inside that little pocket. The logo across the knuckles I did not really care for but that was a minor thing and would not hinder me from using these gloves.

Construction- These gloves are 4oz gloves that are manufactured in Pakistan. The padding is nice and the leather has nice feel to it. The logo that is across the knuckles is screen printed on and seems durable.

Stand up- These worked great at the stand up I did with them. I could use them for mitt work and light sparring but would not recommend them for bag work. They are not designed for bag work anyway so that was not a problem. I really liked these gloves as they felt very comfortable and did not slip out of place.

Ground- This is where these gloves shinned for me. I do a lot of no gi jiu jitsu and these gloves worked great for me. I was able to sink in all choked with out worrying about the gloves getting caught up or hindering what I was doing. When doing ground and pound drills these gloves worked excellent and a very flexible when pressing against the mat with you hand.

Pros-

*Sizing

*Quality

*Construction

Cons-

*Small pocket on outside of palm

I thought that they fit well and the construction is good. You can pick these up at http://www.cagesidemma.com/ for around $50.

Taking a closer look at KO Fight Gear's Standard Thai Pad. See if they are something that you want to add to your gear collection

Per Manufacture-If there was a product design award for muay thai mma gear, then the KO Fightgear muay thai pads would win first place “hands down”. The KO Fightgear EZ-On / EZ-Off hook and loop velcro fastening system makes working with these thai pads a dream. Our competitors still sell pads with buckles or tiny Velcro straps which are obsolete. The KO Fightgear pads are built extra tough for advance skills, the school environment, when your training partner “kicks like a mule”, and if you’re just starting out. For example, the straps are triple riveted and “X” stitched to the pads. Even after break-in, the pads stay firm. This isn’t us “crowing”, but positive feedback from numerous satisfied customers, including US Military combatives instructors. Pads are constructed of genuine cowhide leather.

First Impression- These came in a fairly large box and I could not wait to get it open. I pulled them out and inspected them and they looked great. They were very stiff but that’s kind of what I expected and I knew that I was going to have some fun with these.

Fit and Finish- These pads are very well constructed. No loose stitching and everything was nice and tight. The hook and loop closure worked very well. I like the closure system on these much better then on some where it is two straps of Velcro that must be stuck together. I found that I could easily put these on by myself where as sometimes with other thai pads it is hard to put one on after you already have one on. They are the perfect size coming in at 15″ long by 8″ wide and 4″ thick. I also really enjoyed the color however there are some black marks on them but that is to be expected with use.

Almost a little uncomfortable to have on but once I got the straps to loosen up and give a little bit they have become much more comfortable. They are not too heavy either. I found that with the angle you hand hits the grips that your hand does not become fatigued to quickly.

I enjoyed doing not only boxing type workouts on these but they worked great for the kicks, knees and elbows of muay thai. Not too hard but not too soft.

I have used many thai pads in my time and these rank up there with all the big name brands. If you are looking for thai pads for either your gym or home use definitely think about giving these a try. You can get them at http://www.kofightgear.com/ for around $79 a pair.
