Have all this extra cash left over after Christmas, and need to buy some new mma gear? Well what are you waiting for? Here is my guide to the best gear in the last year part 1.

Here it is almost the end of 2010 and I know what you are thinking. I have all this extra cash left over after Christmas and I need to buy some new mma gear. Well what are you waiting for? There is tons of great gear out there and I am going to take you through what I think is some of the best of the year. Whether you are thinking shorts or gloves, mouthguard or gi, or ever just a new hoodie I got you covered. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy a look at what I think are the best of 2010, and with 2011 coming up I can not wait to see what is just around the corner.

I think the best way to do this is I am going to present this in portions… first up shorts.

SHORTS

Every one of us that is a hardcore gear addict knows this is the staple of our addiction. You can never have too many pairs of mma shorts. I know that I can’t, and just continue to get them no matter how many pairs that I have. As new stuff comes out, I must have to have it. These are just a couple examples of the shorts that I have reviewed that I think are ones that you should not live without.

Sprawl Fusion-S Shorts

These are really some of the best shorts out on the market. With almost every key feature combined into one short this is surely not a pair that you will want to pass up.

I am sure that you have seen these around. They are some of the best shorts out there. With top notch quality and customer service to match these shorts should not be passed up on.

Here I take a look at Wreckage Clothing's T-shirts.

Per Manufacture-

*6 oz. 100% Cotton Shirt.

*Preshrunk to minimize shrinkage.

*Printed tags.

First Impression- When I pulled these shirts out of the packaging I liked them a lot. They felt very soft and I could not wait to try them on. I really liked the contrasting colors.

Construction- These shirts are very well constructed. There were no lose threads and the shirts themselves felt very soft. The screen printing on these is very well done but it is screen printed on so you can feel it unlike when water-based inks are used and actually become part of the fabric. They are made of 100% cotton.

Fit- I ordered and a medium in these and they fit perfect. Some things that I always worry about when ordering clothes online is if they fit the first time and will they shrink after the first wash. Well you already know they fit the first time but did they shrink. The answer is no. They fit almost identically to the way they fit the first time. I was very impressed by this. The sleeves are just the right length for being a t-shirt as well as the shirt is not too long. Really enjoy the fit of these shirts.

Design- This is something that is always very opinion related and what can I say about these shirts. I will start with the Gray one. I really like the design but at first I did not even notice the skeleton in the background. I will admit that this shirt is a little loud and that may push some buyers away. Now onto one of my favorite shirts that I own. The blue one called, “Crest.” I love this shirt. The blue is so strong and the white graphic on this shirt goes perfect with it. The only thing that I would add is I would have maybe liked to see some sort of graphic on the back as it is totally blank. Maybe a smaller Wreckage logo.

Overall- My thoughts are these are very nice shirts and they fall right about mid-range at about 21 dollars a shirt. The quality is there and I really think with the amount of different designs Wreckage has most people can find something they like.

Taking a closer look at Wreckage's Fight Shorts. See what I think about them

Per manufacture-

-Available Sizes: 28-40

-Fixed Waist

First Impression- When I first saw these shorts I was very impressed with how they looked. I could not wait to try them on and get to training. They felt nice and logos look good.

Construction- First off I love the look of these shorts and construction is great. They had very few loose threads and everything was stitched very tight, both double and triple stitched. These shorts are made of 100% polyester and are manufactured right here in the USA. Even thought the logos are screen printed on they seem like they will last for awhile as the screen printing feels tougher then most.

Fit- I got a 32 in these shorts and they fit true to size. They have a fitted waist but the closure system is a little different then standard. Instead of the Velcro folding over the top towards the outside it folds towards the inside of the shorts. I understand the idea of this but can make it awkward at first to figure out how to get these shorts to fit just right. These shorts are longer then most pairs of shorts falling mid to below knee level. They do have split seam which provided a good range of motion but would have liked to see a stretch panel too. The material feels very nice and is also light weight.

Stand up- These are a good pair of shorts for stand up. I did not have any problems with any sort of technique. However these shorts did shift around my waist a little. I found myself having to readjust them a couple times during heaving sparring. They did fell light and did not fold in sweat.

Ground- These shorts also did good on ground. They felt light and did not bunch up too much. They did shift around my waist a little bit but nothing too terrible. I did not have any problems with performing any technique because of the split seam but I think that a stretch panel would have made a positive difference.

Pro-

Good Craftsmanship

Light weight feeling

True to size

Cons-

Shifting around waist

Lack of stretch panel

Overall- These are a good pair of fight shorts. If you are looking at an entry level pair of shorts these are some of the best I have found.
