If you are looking for some new t-shirts? Here I take a look at Milifidel. Read my full review to see what I think about shirts with a cause behind them.

Per Manufacture-

Milifidel is a unique brand that pays homage to the service and bravery of the U.S. Military, past and present. Forged from the Latin –Militias (Military) and Fidelitas (Loyalty) – it honors the courage and sacrifice that the men and women of our Military have devoted to our country.

This uniquely original design is printed on 36-Single 100% Cotton Tee available sizes S-XXL, each shirt is enzyme wash to achieve that soft feel on everyone of our shirts

You are about to purchase an original piece of art from Milifidel, this garment has been softened & distressed to make each piece distinctive and different than the next. Our garments also feature our unique dyes and washes. Milifidel was created with the mission of paying respect to our US Military. We don’t just talk the talk portions of Milifidel profits are donated to military charities such as the West Los Angeles Fisher House Foundation a veterans non-profit. Milifidel Million Dollar Mission “ Raise 1 Million dollars for the West LA Fisher house one shirt at a time”!

You can feel proud when you purchase you Milifidel because you Pay Homage to country and our freedom!

First Impression- When I pulled these shirts out of envelope I as immediately impressed. I really liked the way they felt and looked. I could not wait to try and them on and see how they fit.

Construction- The construction of these is excellent. There were no loose threads and the shirts themselves are very soft. The shirts are 100% cotton and are a 30 single. The ink on these is great. They used discharge ink which makes so you can not feel the design on the shirt. These feel like a higher quality more expensive t-shirt. They also use special washes and dyes that makes each one of the shirts unique which I think is cool.

Fit- I got a medium in these like I would any other t-shirts and the fit was right on. However I would say that they are a little closer to the slim fit side but not a slim fit t-shirt. They are just the right length and do not have a whole bunch of extra shirt at the bottom which just bunches up and can become uncomfortable. I was a little worried when I saw that they were 100% cotton that they might shrink a little well I pleasantly surprised when they did not. They fit the same as when I first put them on. They are a very comfortable shirt the sleeves go about halfway down the between my shoulder and elbow and neck line is just right.

Design- This is my favorite part about these shirts. They do not scream mma at all. Most of the designs are military themed (with good reason) and are very well done. From what I can tell I got two different models of shirts. What I mean by that is there appears to be different tiers of shirts that range in style. The three different tiers that they have are standard, premium and premium plus. However I have to mention that they use the same shirt in all three levels. The two I received are “meaning” and “mili-solider”. The “mili-solider” shirt is an entry level shirt and while it is still nice, it is not quite as comfortable as the “meaning”. I would rate the “meaning” shirt as being towards the upper end of their shirts.

Overall- I highly recommend these shirts. Milifidel has become one of my new favorite brands. With their innovative style and high quality t-shirts you really can not go wrong. Not only being a great company they do something unlike most brands. Portions of their profits are donated to military charities which I personally think is a great thing. Their shirts range in price from $24.95 to $32.95(for my personal favorite shirt the “Frank the tank” model) and at that price for this kind of quality they really can not be beat. Go out and pick yourself up some Milifidel. Oh and do not forget they have a ladies line too called La-Femme.

Want your kid to be the next Ultimate Fighter?? Well set them up with these Driven's youth boxing gloves.

Recently I got the opportunity to take a look at Driven’s new addition to the youth mma market. Their youth boxing gloves. These things look excellent. The quality was something that Driven definitely paid attention to. That is something I think that sometimes gets left behind on youth gear. Now the pictures that I have taken of this gear are of the model that I received, but they do have a newer model which has some new design notes*. One thing that I thought was really cool about these gloves is that there are a black and green version for boys and a black and pink version for girls. They also offer other products such as grappling gloves and hand wraps. Now keep in mind that all these items are specifically designed to fit the smaller hand of a child. The boxing gloves are offered in a variety of sizes ranging from a small 4oz gloves all the way to a large 10oz glove. If you have a child that might be interested in boxing or mma be sure to check out these gloves. I know my son will.

*Design Notes- The label design has changed slightly and we have added the Driven “D” screen-printed logo to the back of the hand on all the new gloves. All gloves will be black on black with a green/silver label for boys and a pink/silver label for girls.

In the market for a new custom mouthguard. Here I take a closer look at BAMF mouthguards. Read the full review to see what I think.

Per Manufacture-

-All of our products are individually made, lab tested and reviewed by our dentists before athletic use to ensure the best quality, performance and fit.

-Our dentists use a patented ’Pressure Lamination’ method to manufacture all of our mouthguards, which is widely accepted by the Academy for Sports Dentistry as the most accurate way to make custom mouthpieces.
-We are the ONLY custom mouthguard company offering a $15,000 Dental Warranty on our products because our custom guards are the best in fit, quality and protection and we’re willing to prove it. For more information please check out www.BAMFmouthguards.com

Process- The process on this mouthguard is the same as most mouthguards. You will receive a kit in the mail to make your impression if you choose to go this route. You can have a dentist do it if there is one in your area, either one that is a BAMF dentist or your own. Since I have done kits before I chose to get the impression kit and do it myself. Here is what comes in the kit

One thing I really liked about this kit is the three different size trays. I have a mouth that is on the smaller size and some kits that I have used the tray is just too big and some what uncomfortable. The directions that it comes with are very clear on how to create your impression, but I have done enough mouthguards before that it is pretty straight forward. This kit also comes with a box that not only is self addressed, but has the postage paid. During this entire time I kept in contact with BAMF and they responded to all of my emails promptly. We went over some design ideas and I finally settled on one. I took the impression and if you take it correctly it should end up looking like this.

I then simply filled out the paper work and put everything in the box to send back to them. Now I did not opt to do a rush job (Which costs and extra $35) so mine took about 2-3 weeks, but if you order a rush they can get your guard done in under one week. Now on to the finished product.

The Guard- I got the box and opened it up to find a nice case and my guard sitting inside. My first thought was, “Wow this thing is huge.” This is by far the thickest mouthguard I have ever seen. I got the super heavy weight model which is 7mm thick. Now keep in mind that they provide the only $15,000 dental warranty and I can see why. I was a little worried I would not even be able to get it into my mouth. Well the good news is that I could. The fit of this guard is nice and tight. The key with this one is to make sure that you do the impression kit right because I do not see this one being easily adjusted*. However if for some reason it did not fit you can speak to one of their dentists that make the guards, and they can help you. You also have the option to return it and they will make you a new guard no problem as they do have a guarantee that the guard will fit. Now as for the design. It was exactly what I had asked for. I will say that I could see the paper that they had used to do the design, but that is pretty normal for a mouthguard so you can’t mark them too far down for that. The yellow however on the paper design in the guard did match the actual yellow of the guard which is nice as I have seen some from other companies where they could not match it. That is really the only negative thing that I have to say about this guard. If I were to rate this guard I would give it a nine out of ten on fit and comfort and eight out of ten just based purely on the visual part of it. Now lets say you have a whole fight team that is interested or maybe you want another guard. Well BAMF offers discounts for just such an occasion. Be sure to contact them for details.

Overall I can recommend this mouthguard as it does have an excellent fit and I definitely feel like my mouth is protected when I have it on. I would say that if you are in the market for a new mouthguard be sure and check out www.BAMFmouthguards.com. They offer a great guard at a good price plus a warranty that is unmatched. Their guards start at around $65 and with so many custom options they can get to $150.

Notes

* This is directly from BAMF about adjustments. “Our dentists can make small adjustments to the mouthguard for comfort and fit if it’s too tight or rubs your mouth the wrong way in any areas. We take a lot of pride in our work and take our job to protect our customers very seriously. If you do not do the impression right, we will work with you to help you redo your impression since we will not make a mouthguard for someone that does not fit correctly or protect them as promised.”

Per Manufacture-

Revgear Spartan Pro High Performance Fight Shorts. The most technical fight short on the market!

*High performance two way stretch fabric body with four way stretch gusset.
*5″ side slit with reinforced stress points for high kicking.

*Antimicrobial treated and water repellent.

*Hook and loop enclosure with drawstring.

First Impression- When I first saw these I have to say the styling was kind of bland, but they still looked like high quality shorts. I have never used a Revgear pair of shorts before so did not really know what to expect.

Construction- The construction of these shorts is top notch. Very few loose threads, and everything is either double or triple stitched. These shorts have a fairly standard hook and loop closure system with a drawstring. They have a fitted waist which sometimes I find to be annoying, but not too bad on this pair. The shorts are made in China. There are quite a few logos on these shorts as you can see. Some are embroidered and some are screen printed on the shorts. They have a small split seam and have stretch panel in the inside of the leg. The material itself is a 2 ways stretch and the shorts are made 100% out of polyester. They also have a small pocket on the inside of the waistband.

Fit- For these shorts I first picked up a 32. While the fit was good I felt like I might be better off getting a 30. Well that was what I ended up doing and the 30 fit perfectly. Once the closure system was fastened and the drawstring was tied these shorts fit nice and tight on my waist. There was very little shifting or riding up. These shorts are mid length and go just past the top of my knee. These shorts feel a little heavier than some, but it also makes them feel very durable. They fit of these short is very good just make sure that you have the right size, and I would say when in doubt go a size smaller than normal. Something that I did really like about them is they place the fold over part of the closure system farther down. I liked this because sometimes the velcro can rub against my stomach and cause irritation and with this pair this is not an issue.

Stand Up- When I used these for any sort of stand up they worked great. They stayed snug around my waist, without any ride up. The stretch panel allowed them to have plenty of range of motion. The split seam in these is smaller than most shorts so I really did not feel like it made any difference. These shorts also did not shift much around my waist which was a surprise to me as most shorts that have a fitted waistband tend to shift. The length of these shorts is just right and did not get in the way or cause any sort of binding up. I had no trouble with any sort of technique in these shorts.

Ground- On the ground these shorts work well. They are very comfortable. I did not have any problems with performing any sort of technique. There was more shifting here than there was when using them for stand up but nothing too bad. They did still manage to stay fairly snug around my waist. The legs of them also had a tendency to ride up while on my back. Had plenty of range of motion, and did not bind up when on my back.

Pros-

*Construction

*Snug Fit once you get the correct size

Cons-

*Sizing

*Bland Styling

Overall- These are a good pair of shorts. They do exactly what they are suppose to do. If you like the styling and get the sizing down these may be the shorts for you. These are shorts that I can recommend especially if you are looking for a pair not everyone has. You can pick them up for right around $50. While they are not my favorite shorts, they will remain in my rotation.

Looking for an edge during training? Check out these products from Adaptx Labs. Read the full review and see if I think they are worth your money.

As someone who trains mma I am always looking for that advantage. I think we all are. Something that will make you better than the next guy. Of course you have to put the time in gym, but what if you could push farther than most. Well after trying almost every supplement that is on the market whether they be for fighters or not, and being disappointed I turned to something I read about called CardioFactor. Now I am going to be honest, at first I was skeptical. I have tried so many products that promised so many things and most of them did not deliver. I thought to myself, “hey I should try it.” Well I am here to tell you that it works.

For me CardioFactor is an amazing product. I found that as long as you follow the directions and make sure that you put the time in the gym you will notice a difference. Keep in mind, this is not a magical pill. You are not going to grow huge muscles and be able to run 45 miles the first day. It is a supplement. It helps you with what you already do. This review comes after one month of usage and I will continue to use this product. I can feel my body actually being less tired. As far as being able to push myself through the round and not gassing out like I might have before. Just so that you are aware the only thing that I changed is I did not take any other supplements besides PreFight which I will get into later. Oh and of course protein.

What you get with each bottle is a 30 day supply. I do not know the science behind this product but I do have product sheets which I received from Adpatx labs that go over everything that is in this product. Here is a small excerpt from their site.

*For a fighter, CardioFactor will help you take your cardiovascular training to the next level and reduce gassing out in a fight.

Push harder and longer in training

Helps your muscles not feel tired

Speed recovery between intense efforts

Maintain lean body mass

To improve your performance as a fighter, CardioFactor should be used daily along with a program that includes training in cardiovascular fitness, strength and fighting skills.

I can strongly recommend using this product. For me it has pushed my training to new levels.

Now for PreFight

The only energy supplement developed specifically for fighters.

100% Legal and Safe

Developed by Medical and Exercise Physiology Experts

Primes neurological and metabolic systems in preparation for physiological intensity

Balanced by a blend of adaptogens to take you up, but not over the edge

Fighting is a battle of wills. When two warriors face off, the one with superior will commands an overwhelming advantage. The slightest bit of doubt, fear or hesitation will be sensed immediately and the fight is almost over before it begins. Strengthen your will and determination to dominate with AdapTx Labs’ PreFight.

I have tried all sorts of pre workout type supplements. Some I liked some I did not. What I always found to be the problem was that my body would quickly adapt to them and would make it so I could no longer feel the stimulants. I decided that in addition to CardioFactor I was going to try PreFight. I am glad that I did. It gives a great boost in energy without giving you that “cracked out” feeling. Just kept my mind focused and kept me in the right mental zone to get through my workouts. I have been on this for over thirty days and it still continues to work day after day. This is a product that I highly recommend. Even if you are not a fighter, maybe you run, or just play basketball at the gym. Either way I think most people can benefit from either one of these products, but remember it is you that must put in the time to feel them work. The price on these you ask. Well you can pick CardioFactor up for $49.95 and PreFight for $34.95. Just click the link at the bottom of the page, and be sure to tell them I sent ya.

First Impression- When I got these out of the box I first noticed how small these looked to be 16oz. I tried them on and the fit was nice and snug could not wait to try them out. Colors were nice and bright.

Construction- These gloves are of excellent quality. There were no loose threads when they arrived at my house. The color of the leather is very vibrant and well done. Like other ASU gloves the leather is high quality and thick. The logos on them are screen printed on the back of the hand compartment, we will see how long that lasts. The logo on the cuff however is sewn on. The padding in these gloves is nice and tight. I would say it is just right. Not so soft that it feels like a pillow, but not so hard that when sparring with someone that it is going to hurt them. The padding surrounds the entire hand like a muay thai glove should. These glove are manufactured in Pakistan. They have a standard hook and loop style closure system, and also an attached thumb.. The interior lining of the glove feels like a satin material.

Fit- For me this glove has a perfect fit. Now keep in mind I have smaller hands, so if your hands are bigger these gloves might be tight on you. I also wrap my hands. The cuff is in the mid range and goes to about the middle of my forearm. They provide great wrist protection and I also have plenty of freedom for movement such as thai clinch and opening and closing my hand. Another thing that they do is have very good ventilation. While my hands still got sweaty, they did not feel as hot because of the holes in the palms of the glove. I know that may not sound like much, but it does make a difference. The material of the lining on the inside of the glove feels nice and did not irritate my skin. The thumb of these gloves is just the right length and found it to be very comfortable. The overall fit of these gloves is just right for me.

Mitts/Pads- These are my favorite gloves I own when working mitt/pad drills. They are very comfortable and provide plenty of wrist protection. I did not find my hands to become very fatigued because it is so easy to make a fist in these gloves. They feel very light for 16oz gloves. I had to weigh them to make sure that they were truly a 16oz glove and they are right one the money. Was a little worried that my knuckles would be sore after some extended rounds, but no unusual soreness. Great gloves for training.

Heavy Bag- On the heavy bag I am 50/50 on these gloves. They provide the protection that I needed, but there are gloves that I would rather use than these. I do not believe that these gloves were fully designed for heavy bag work. Like before I had no problem working any kind of technique on the bag. They remained comfortable through out my entire workout. If you are looking for bag gloves these would not be the ones that I would choose. There is nothing wrong with them just were not the gloves I would pick for working a heavy bag when they are so great at other things. However they do work for just about everything else. Now on to sparring.

Sparring- Another reason I really like these gloves. They are excellent for sparring. The padding on them makes them work perfectly for sparring. I could easily open my hand allowing for thai clinch, but also to be able to do more of a normal clinch as well. At the same time my hand did not get tired from making a fist either. Even when blocking kicks these gloves worked as there is padding on the back side of the hand and wrist. Did not get any complaints about the padding being to stiff. While the wrist protection is good it is not to tight so that is still allows plenty of movement for a better and tighter thai clinch.

Pros-

*Quality

*Fit

*Easy to make a fist

*Ventilation

Cons-

*Maybe small on some

*Not great for bag work

Overall- If you are looking for a thai style glove for either sparring or mitt/pad work then you should definitely check these out. The quality is great and you really can not go wrong with ASU products. Might want to look for a bag glove is looking to do some heavy bag work as these were not my favorite for that. I can recommend these gloves. They can be purchased for right around $64.

Here I take a look at Inspirit's Spec 1 Model. These are a very unique pair of shorts. Read the full review to find out why.

Per Manufacture-

To meet the constantly evolving needs of INSPIRIT fighters and customers, we have improved our signature SPEC series with improvements to fabric, overall fit and functionality, such as improved velcro strap closures. The exclusive mesh liner, on the inside of the shorts, prevents sticking, fading of color from sweat, and improves hygiene. The overall shape of the shorts is kept intact even after hard practices. The previously printed logo is now embroidered to add a premium look.

First Impression- When I first got these shorts I was very impressed by the way that these shorts looked. I did however notice that there was no spilt seam or stretch panel so I hope these shorts provide plenty of mobility.

Construction- The construction of these shorts is excellent. All of the stitching is top notch, and the logos are very well placed. Most of the logos are embroidered, there are a few on the sides that are screen printed on. These shorts have an interior lining to them similar to what swim shorts or basketball shorts have. The closure system of these shorts is very unique. It has elements of a standard hook and loop but also has a small tab that the drawstring runs through ensuring that these will not come loose. They also have metal eyelets around the holes that the drawstring comes out of.The waistband is a mix of both fixed and elastic . The shorts are manufactured in .

Fit- I got these shorts in a . I was a little worried looking at them as they looked small but ended up fitting perfectly. The help of the elastic waistband makes these shorts have just enough adjust ability. They also have a drawstring. These shorts are medium in length and fall just about knee level. Once the closure system in secured these shorts fit very snug. I have no doubt that while training that these shorts are going to stay snug around my waist. They are a little tighter in the legs then most shorts but we will see if that makes a difference when training.

Stand Up- These shorts actually worked very well for the stand up. They did not shift around my waist at all. There was a little bit of the legs riding up, but that is to be expected with no spilt seam or stretch panel. I did not have any problems doing any sort of technique. I was worried that the mesh on the inside of the shorts might be annoying but it was not at all. I did not even notice it was there.

Ground- On the ground these shorts worked okay. While they stayed nice and snug around my waist they did ride up on my legs. Now with the lack of a split seam or stretch panel, these shorts seemed a little tight. They did not prevent me from performing any certain moves, but I could feel that they were there. Sometimes they felt very tight on my legs. Still did not find the mesh to be annoying, and actually felt as if it kept the shorts dry.

Pros-

*Construction

*Most logos embroidered

*Closure System

Cons-

*Lack of Split Seam or Stretch Panel

*Mesh could be bothersome(not me)

Overall- I really liked these shorts. While they have some minor flaws, these shorts work well at what they do. On the plus side you could wear these shorts for other activities such as weight lifting or even just going for a run. The positives definitely out weigh the negatives so I can recommend these shorts. If you are in the market for a pair of shorts that are high quality and can be used just about anywhere, take a look at these.

Here is a look at up and coming fighter Brandon Bergeron. He fights out of Chippewa Falls, MN. and currently trains at Minnesota Martial Arts Academy. You will find him training with the likes of Sean Sherk, Jacob Volkmann, Nik Lentz, Paul Bradley, and Derrick Noble just to name some. Over the 3 years that he has been training he has compiled a professional record of 9-3. He also holds a blue belt in jiu jitsu and as you can see from his stats has some pretty slick submissions in his arsenal. He is next scheduled to face WEC vet Courtney Buck coming up on July 30th. Keep an eye out for Brandon as he is doing big things and on his way to becoming a great mixed martial arts fighter. Here are his stats.

Looking for some new mitts?? Here is a closer look at Ring to Cage's Curved Punch Mitts. Read full review to see how they perform.

Per Manufacture-

*High quality, genuine leather shell with dense foam core.
*Gloves double-stitched on back.
*Slightly curved to fit the natural contour of the palm.
*Slip-on style hand compartment securely and comfortably anchors the mitts to your hands.
*Extra protection for wrists, forearms, hands and fingers.
*Measures 10″ x 8″ x 2.0″

First Impression- When I first pulled these out of the box I was very pleased to see them. They looked very well constructed and I loved the colors. The initial fit was good. Lets see how they perform.

Construction- The construction on these mitts is great. They leather on them is top notch and they have an excellent feel to them. I do not have the exact break down on the material used, but everything on them is of high quality. All the stitching is is done well and in all the right places including double stitching in places where there would be added stress. They are manufactured in Pakistan. They have a screen printed logo on the hitting surface and I feel like over time that it will fade. They also have 2 more logos on the reverse side. Both of these logos are stitched on so I do not feel like they will be going anywhere.

Fit- The fit of these mitts for me is great. The hand compartment is very comfy and has a fairly tight fit. I would imagine that if you have large hands that these might have a tight fit. They do a good job at keeping your hand cool and not to moist. The inside of the hand compartment is form fitting and has separate spaces for each of your fingers. Something I noticed is the angle they keep your hand and wrist. They also have plenty of padding at the wrist area to absorb some of the shock from being hit. I did not become fatigued while wearing them.

Training- I used these with both 4oz mma gloves and boxing gloves. They worked well for both. When using the mma glove these mitts are a little stiff, but they do work. I did not find that my hands hurt after using the mma gloves on them. While wearing boxing gloves these are excellent mitts. They are stiff enough to hit but not even close to hurting your hand. They provide a fairly big target to hit. While wearing them they are quite comfortable. They have plenty of padding and it is hard enough that it absorbs most of the shock. They also have plenty of wrist support. What I mean by that is there is a nice bit of padding down by the wrist that not only hold your hand and wrist at the right angle but also is very soft and absorbs most of the shock to the wrist. My hands while wearing them did not get to hot or sweaty because there is plenty of ventilation through the back of the hand compartment. They are also light weight. I could move with them very easy and still throw jabs or other punches to have my partner avoid and counter.

Pros-

*Quality

*Fit for smaller to medium hands

*Shock absorbing

Cons-

*Could be tight on some

*Screen printed logo on palm area

Overall- I can say that I would recommend these. They are high quality and really work great at what they are designed to do. If you are in the market for mitts for either your home gym or taking to the gym with you make sure and give these a look. If you have larger hands you might want to try something else, but other than that these are a great pair of mitts. They go for around $90.
