New gear bag? Yep Jaco has one. Check out my review of their new Convertible Equipment Bag.

Per Manufacturer-

Designed to be worn as an over-sized backpack or converted to a full size duffle, Jaco Clothing’s Convertible Equipment Bag provides superior versatility and offers a myriad of thoughtful features to meet the demands of the MMA training lifestyle.

Durable 840 denier ballistic poly construction withstands the wear and tear of daily training and travel

Over-sized main compartment holds training gear and clothes.

Expandable mesh compartment provides extra storage and allows wet post-training clothes to dry more quickly

Insulated side pocket

Side storage pocket with internal organizers

Velour-lined valuables pocket

Stowable back pack straps, quick release hardware, and duffle strap allows the bag to be converted from a backpack to a duffle bag with ease

Backpack Configuration Dimensions: 23” x 16” x 12”

Duffle Bag Configuration Dimensions: 35” x 16” x 12”

First Impression- When I got this bag out it seemed huge even as just a backpack. Should be able to get tons of stuff in it.

Construction- While looking through this bag I noticed that the construction of this bag is fantastic. All of the stitching on it is done very well. The logos on the sides are screen printed on while other other are embroidered. There is plenty of padding where there should be and the arm straps are done well. This bag has a ton of different pockets. There are two pockets of the sides, on one side you have a pocket with little pockets inside, and on the other side you have pocket which is insulated to keep your drinks cool. There is a pocket at the top of the bag that is lined with velour so that things do not scratched. Then of course there are the main pockets which are made of mesh for great ventilation. Coolest thing is that this bag is a convertible bag which means it goes from a backpack to a duffle bag. This bag is manufactured in China.

Usage- Lets start of with this bag as a backpack. It is bigger than most backpacks, so you should be able to get almost everything that you need for training. Now if for some reason you can not fit all your gear in here, it has an expandable mesh pocket at the bottom which makes it into a duffle bag. I was able to fit several pairs of gloves, shorts, gi, towel, water bottle, and shin pads. I actually still had some room after that. Now I got all that stuff in there when it was a duffle bag. It was easy to carry this bag whether is be the backpack of the duffle bag. All of the zippers worked very well, and it was actually very easy to convert the bag between the two styles, although I prefer it as a backpack.

Pros-

*Excellent Construction

*Convertible Bag

*Lots of Pockets

Cons-

*Feels big when wearing as a backpack

Overall- There is really not a whole lot that I could find wrong with this bag. It has tons of pockets and carries all the gear that I need. Be sure that if you are needing a new bag for your gear you check out the Jaco Convertible Equipment Bag. It retails for right around $120.

Simple boil and bite forming process

Includes anti-microbial carrying case

First Impression- I have used a dual mouthguard in the past and did not really like it so we will see how this one compares. Comes with good instructions and a case.

Process- The instructions that this mouthguard come with are actually very good. They walk you through every step. Now I am not going to go into extreme detail, but will go over the basics. It is a dual tray boil and bite style mouthguard. One of the things that you want to pay attention to is if you need to trim some of the back of the mouthguard off. Now if you have read some of my other mouthguard reviews you know that I have a smaller mouth, and so I did need to trim the back off the mouthguard. Once you get the initial fit right, you have to get ready to boil it. Now there is a boiling technique with this mouthguard, but I wont get to far into it, you will just have to read the instructions.

Fit- Once I got done actually making the mouthguard I tried it out for fit. Now for a boil and bite style mouthguard this actually has a pretty good fit to it. It took me a little while to get use to the dual tray design, but once I did it did not bother me much. This mouthguard does not fit as tight as a custom style one and you can not talk with it in, but it does protect both the top and bottom teeth which most custom mouthguards do not. I also liked that it had a hole in the middle that you could breath through which allowed me to keep my jaw closed and more protected, and because this is a boil and bite style if you mess up making it you can just re-boil and try again.

Pros-

*Dual tray design

*Good fit for boil and bite

Cons-

*Dual tray design

*Can not talk while in

Overall- Yes I know that I put dual tray design in both pros and cons and that’s exactly to me how it is. There are both good and bad things that come along with this type of mouthguard. While it does provide protection for the bottom teeth and make it so the jaw does not move as much on impact, it is not as comfortable or as tight as custom fit mouthguard. Perhaps it is a little unfair to compare the two as this one cost less than half of some of those. Basically it comes down to personal preference. Will I wear this mouthguard again? The simple answer is yes. Do I recommend this mouthguard? Once again the answer is yes. The Jaco Guardian Dual Tray Mouthguard can be purchased for right around $30.
